2024-25 Executive Board
Letter from PenSPRA President
Dear Colleagues,
I hope that the 2024-2025 school year is off to a fantastic start for you and your school district! 2025?!?! It does not seem like it was 25 years ago that we were all anxiously preparing for Y2K and waiting to see what would happen when the date on all the world’s computers rolled over to “00.”
Just as we may all take some time to reflect on life and work since the start of a new century, the PenSPRA Board of Directors and leadership team will also be taking time this year to reflect on our most recent strategic plan and to begin the development of a new strategic plan that will guide our efforts and shape our vision for the next three years. This plan will be instrumental in aligning our goals with the evolving needs of school communication professionals, ensuring that we continue to provide valuable networking opportunities, professional development programs, and resources for our members.
Thank you to those who completed the survey and participated in our strategic plan focus group. Your insights and contributions are invaluable as we work together to set a clear direction and achieve our shared objectives.
As you begin to plan for the year ahead, I hope that you will take the time to attend PenSPRA’s regional workshops and Join the Conversation events. Additional information and registration links for these events are available here.
Also, please save the date and make plans to attend PenSPRA’s Annual Symposium on March 20 and 21, 2025 in State College, PA. Additionally, the 2025 NSPRA National Seminar is in Washington, D.C. in July, so we hope to have a big contingency from PA this year!
I have found it to be so important to make time to connect with like-minded colleagues, to learn from their experiences, and to share my own successes and challenges. You may be the only person in your district working in this important role, but please know that there are colleagues across the state, including myself, who are only a phone call, email, or text message away and who are always willing to help and support you in any way that they can.
Here’s to a great school year!
Sincerely, Sarah Welch |
