In lieu of holding an in-person PenSPRA Symposium in the fall, we are excited to offer a virtual half-day event featuring two exceptional speakers and an open member forum discussion on current topics. Learn more about our speakers and their presentations below.

Speaker One: Andrea Gribble

Surviving Social Media in a One-Person School PR Shop
Are you struggling to find the time and the content to share on your social media channels? You are not alone, but it doesn’t have to be that way! Learn the five key strategies to develop a storytelling system for your school. Discover what works, what doesn’t and the examples you need to make meaningful improvements. Walk away with a plan and supporting resources to manage social media, instead of letting social media manage you!

Andrea Gribble, Founder of SocialSchool4EDU
Andrea’s passion is helping schools recognize their daily awesomeness and sharing that story with the world. She’s built a team that celebrates hundreds of schools across the country! #SocialSchool4EDU provides full social media management, offers an intensive Social Media Bootcamp, and runs a vibrant online community that provides ongoing professional development for school social media champions.

Speaker Two: Sarah Roberson

What Everyone Gets Wrong About Creating Advocates
It's easy to become preoccupied with all the "detractors" - those community members that have negative things to say about you and your schools. However, research shows that the best way to build broad community support is to focus on creating advocates. Yet unlike a marketing campaign that can reach hundreds or thousands, advocates have to be built one by one. In this session, we cover the counterintuitive blueprint to create advocates in your community.

Sarah Roberson, Senior Education Advisor at Apptegy
Sarah has been working with schools for over 25 years as a nonprofit professional, most recently as the Executive Director of City Year Little Rock. She has a passion for building collaborative partnerships that result in student success. From the classroom to the superintendent’s office, Sarah understands the interdependent nature of school districts and the need for clear communication and expectations. Sarah enjoys making communication easier for teachers, staff, and administrators so they can focus on students!
