A Message from PenSPRA's President
I hope you all had an enjoyable summer and found time to relax and recharge; you certainly deserved it after the last few years we’ve had. By now you have all hopefully had a successful first couple of weeks of school in your districts. Here at Unionville-Chadds Ford, there was an incredible energy on opening day. It really made me excited for the new school year and what lies ahead!
I am thrilled to be working alongside our new president-elect, Sarah Welch from Keystone Oaks School District.
Sarah has been a member of the PenSPRA Board for several years, and I am incredibly grateful for her partnership during my final year as president of PenSPRA.
The PenSPRA Board, along with our Executive Director Mary Curley and her team, have been working hard on executing aspects of our strategic plan that will continue to strengthen our organization as a leader in education communications. We have begun discussions with other state-level organizations to build relationships and identify opportunities for future partnerships. We are actively working on growing our membership to expand our amazing community of school communication leaders. We continue to plan workshops to provide you with more resources and offer opportunities for sharing best practices with our online open forum and virtual Join the Conversation events. Lastly, we are once again planning an exciting conference to bring us all together to learn the latest in school communication topics and trends.
Whether you are tackling some big new initiatives this year, or just juggling all of the fun things that find their way to your inbox, remember that PenSPRA has your back. Wherever you are in the state, you can connect with fellow PenSPRA members for advice or mentorship. That is one of the things I love most about PenSPRA - you are never alone. This is my 10th year in education communications and I would not be where I am today without the incredible people I have met through PenSPRA.
Please feel free to reach out to me at any time. I wish you all a wonderful school year!
